👣 What About Toenail Fungus?
Oregano is frequently recommended online for fungal nail infections because of its laboratory antifungal activity.
There is even a published case report describing irritant contact dermatitis after oregano essential oil was used in an attempt to treat a fungal nail problem.
That is a useful reminder of the difference between antimicrobial activity and safe treatment.
Nail fungus can be persistent and difficult to eliminate because the organism may be located beneath or within the nail plate.

Commercial supplements may contain oregano essential oil already diluted in another oil, such as olive oil.
